Lift the hinged roof, drop a fresh corn cob on the wire holders, top up the tray, close it. No screws, no tools, no taking the tray apart on the deck. Most yards need a refill every few days in autumn and winter when squirrels are caching hard, less in summer. The refill takes under a minute, which is the whole point: feeders that are annoying to fill end up empty.
